//4A CMC//
I must admit we must be one of the worst CMC around...let's evaluate what we have done thus far (since the year is ending anyway we won't be doing much more)...
Me: I love collecting consent forms, term progress reports, then arranging it in index number. (I'm serious..) Speaking of this, 4A, bring your IP Survey form and the JC Subject Combi Option form on Wed...
What else have I done....I bought the teachers' day gift...(which isn't such a good idea anyway)...teachers' day is one day away, I forgot to buy the cards the previous weekend that I went out, so I rushed to the bookshop during the second recess, and guess what, Auntie don't sell cards! She say these bookmarks are better gifts? Since I don't have much of a choice, I bought these bookmarks for the teachers (they cost 2 bucks each lor..)..look how well it turned out...
Erm...let's see...I guess I've done so much that I can't remember...
Terence: He off the lights everyday before flag raising...he shout class stand and class bow every lesson...he bitch at people for being noisy...I'm sure he did more...I just can't remember...
Ming Hao: He came up with a duty roster that no one followed...he took the blame each time a teacher complained about our class cleanliness, and he helped us clinched the best class award thing (which include class cleanliness)...talk about shocking news...
Jie Xun: He bought the vangard sheets to paste at the notice board at the start of the year...he is going to design the class t shirt...he pastes the notices at the notice board at the start of the year...
Kai Herng: What else can a treasurer do, collect money (duh)....
Ming Wei: He ordered the pizza for Ning Jun's farewell party...he is supposedly gonna book the chalet (but till now no news yet huh..)...he also bought the chinese new year cards for the teachers....no wait...I bought it...he asked the class to sign...
That pretty much sums up what we have done this year...come to think of it...it's really pathetic...but hey, we did not elect ourselves...the class did...haha...that's a pretty irresponsible thing to say I guess, but it's true! We have like so many much better people and they choose us for the fun of it...
Thinking back...we are supposed to have this "Sports Of The Month" thing, I remember for Feb it is BBall...but we didn't bother to continue with that...that's how slack I am...
what a useless post...just like the cmc...

Gosh, I can't wait! This is like the best sports ever and I am so honoured to be representing the class!!
Today, I asked the class if anyone is interested in taking part and sadly no one volunteered but I don't blame them, cause I wouldn't have volunteered too if someone else is the chairman. Nevertheless, it is such a privilege to be playing for the class!!! I never realised what a fun game it is till I signed up!!
See ya at KKH on Wed!!

Lightning
//Lightning//
窗外雷电交加,下着倾盆大雨,我还在读我的词语手册...
I learnt in one of the Geography lesson that you can be struck by ligntning even if you are indoors, for some reason, I feel that the lightning is gonna strike me when I am studying my 词语手册...let's hope I make it through the night without getting struck...there are still a lot of things which I want to do but have to done...
such a random post...off to study again...

Mama Paolo is DA BEST
//Mama Paolo is DA BEST//
This post is dedicated to the Great Italian Goddess: MAMA PAOLO!!
She is just so freaking cooooooool!!
Her "take-no-shit" attitude towards her extremely rude son DJ Paolo is great!! Way to go Mama Paolo! Scream at him somemore ("You better bungee or I'll kill you) and give him more paper cuts!!! (like she did last week)
But like all mother...she wants her son to love her too (aww..isn't it sweet)...my heart almost melts when she says the ideal situation is that at the end of the race her sons would tell her, "I love you, ma", and she said this with her teary eyes....sadly I guess they don't win? Cause that confessional looks like one they have after elimination...
She is da bomb, without her on the race, it would be so damn boring (think linz, bransen family, i still can't tell the sisters apart in the bransen family!)
I love how her son DJ is like shitting in his pants during the bungee jump and she was comforting him "it's just a few seconds" (when both of them are afraid of heights), that's such a loving mum don't you think?
To a certain extent, she reminds me of my mum, the way she behaved, like last week when they are looking for the pit stop, she was like wondering off, and DJ has to scream at her to come back (I can so imagine my mum doing that!!), there are a lot other instances where she reminds me of my mum...
I almost cried at the end when she said "My sons love me!! my sons love me!!" after the bungee...
Despite all the screaming and shouting and bickering in the Paolo family...I truly believe they are one happy family...I can't imagine how much fun they would have with the Panama trip they won tonight, more screaming and bickering for them I guess, but that's the way they express their love for each other, so I guess I would just call it "Loud Love" instead of screaming...

Ironic
//Ironic//
Mr. Play It Safe was afraid to fly
He packed his suitcase and kissed his kids goodbye
He waited his whole damn life to take that flight
And as the plane crashed down he thought
"Well isn't this nice..."
And isn't it ironic...dontcha think
- Alanis Morissette
Today, I finally got back my end of year English and Chinese Papers. Shockingly, I did pretty well in English...
Before the exams, I was in the English remedial class (cause my English sucks), I remember Mdm Loke said this during the last remedial class before exam:
"In such a short amount of time, what you can do to improve your essay is limited, other than checking your essay to minimise language errors, probably you can read the sample essays and borrow chunks of ideas if necessary. What can really make a difference is the comprehension. The paper is actually not very hard, as long as you focus and answer the question, and don't bungle up on the day itself, you should be fine."
So I did what she said, check my work, read sample essays, read the questions carefully for the comprehension, etc. And the results is exactly the opposite of what she predicted:
Composition: 27/30 (yes I am shocked too)
Stimulus Qns: 15/20 (not too bad..)
Comprehension: 14/25 (nearly failed...)
Summary: 19/25 (better than my normal standards)
Total:75/100 (my first A1 in 4 years)
I am especially shocked with the compo results, I admit I felt good about that compo after finishing it, but I never expected such results, I was expecting at most a 23. Well, but this is life, full of surprises and ironies, especially since I scored so badly for comprehension which she said was supposed to be easier, and also which I felt that I have a better chance at scoring, yet I scored so high for composition (one of the highest in class and my highest for this year and last year, average score for my compo is below 20)
This reminds me of Alanis Morisette 's song "Ironic":
Well life has a funny way of sneaking up on you
When you think everything's okay and everything's going right
And life has a funny way of helping you out when
You think everything's gone wrong and everything blows up
In your face
A traffic jam when you're already late
A no-smoking sign on your cigarette break
It's like ten thousand spoons when all you need is a knife
It's meeting the man of my dreams
And then meeting his beautiful wife
And isn't it ironic...dontcha think
For full lyrics, click here
As for Chinese, I got full marks of my first few sections, but screwed up badly for summary. And I did not do very well for paper 1 too, in fact I have been sucking in paper 1 since the year begins....
Hmm...I also don't know what I'm talking about...must be the food that I ate just now...
The Yuki Yaki at Marina Square is not bad, nice ambience, excellent staff, and best of all, there is very few people there, so you can basically have the whole place to yourself most of the time, be as crazy as you want and no one will care...
But stiil, no matter how good the outlet is, life has some sort of divine way to make sure it is never perfect...halfway through the meal, one of the staff came and told us there is some sort of promotion from tomorrow (26/10) onwards, $12.90 (no +) for the plus buffet lunch and dinner for weekdays and for weekend lunch. (while we paid $15.10 after using the coupon), only if we had decided to come one day later...though it is only 2 bucks...

MacArthur Park
//MacArthur Park//
MacArthur Park is a park in western Los Angeles, California, named after General Douglas MacArthur. In the mid-1800s the area was a swampland; by the 1890s, it was a vacation destination, surrounded by wealthy hotels.
But it became known for being a violent place after 1985 when drug-dealing, shoot-outs and rumored occasional drownings became somewhat common.
Most recently, in 2005 the park was celebrated for having the highest reduction of crime statistics per resident in the United States.
MacArthur Park is also a song written by Jimmy Webb. It is first performed by Richard Harris in 1968, it topped the charts in Europe at that time, and peaked at 2nd on the US charts.
Donna Summer did a disco rendition of this song in 1978, which topped the US charts.
A poll by American columnist Dave Barry selected "MacArthur Park" as the worst song ever recorded.
I don't really think it is the worst song ever, there are a lot lousier song around now, but the lyrics of this song is pretty amusing I would say. This is the chorus:
MacArthur's Park is melting in the dark
All the sweet, green icing flowing down
Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
'cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again
Oh, no!
For the full lyrics, click here
Does it make any sense? A cake left out in the rain? I can't take it cause it take so long to bake it? I'll never have the receipe again? And worst, how does MacArthur Park melting in the rain gotta do with a cake?
There are a couple of theories as to what the song lyrics means...some are pretty amusing too..
In 5th place
Richard Harris is there, all day long, sitting by himself, remembering his lost love and the things they use to do in the park.
"All the sweet, green icing flowing down" - are the green leaves on the trees flowing together as he watches them through the tears. "Someone left the cake out in the rain" - he's not sure who broke up the relationship. "I don't think I can take it 'cause it took so long to bake it. And I'll never have that recipe again" - He's not sure if he can continue after all the time spent building that relationship and he's sure he can't recreate that relationship again because she's gone.
It is a song about a failing marriage, they will never be able to save their marriage, with reference to "Someone left the cake out in the rain, I don't think I can take it, cause it took so long to bake it", which the cake refers to the relationship. This theory actually makes sense too, but what about the first line "MacArthur Park is melting in the dark"?
In 3rd place
The song is about sex and drug!! (with humour injected).
For the drug aspect, "MacArthur Park is melting in the dark" refers to Jimmy Webb experimenting with LSD.
As for the sexual reference, Jimmy Webb actually had a sexual encounter with a girl in the park (sort of like ONS)..."Someone left the cake out in the rain" is actually the girl's description of the oral sex committed on her by Jimmy Webb (her first time), "I don't think I can take it, cause it took so long to bake it, I will never have that receipe again" is the from the girl's perspective, whether she would meet a guy prepared to do that again to her, and whether or not she would achieve the same orgasm.
-_-?
Well regardless of whether this is true, both Richard Harris and Donna Summer have mentioned in interviews that the song is about drug taking.
But sources can be unreliable, after cross referencing with other sources, which obviously disagreed with this one, I declare that this source is highly unreliable, and whether or not Richard Harris or Donna Summer said that remains doubtful.
In 2nd place
This song is about the Vietnam War! This song is written in 1967, when the Vietnam war is ongoing. The park is named after General Douglas MacArthur since WWII. Connect the dots. But what about the cake! Dude you forgot the cake!
In 1st place
Richard Harris made a bet with someone saying that music is more important than lyrics, the other guy don't think so, he believed that a song is made with lyrics, so Richard Harris wrote this song, about a cake melting in the rain, and it did top the charts! So Richard Harris won the bet! LOL!
But then this song wasn't exactly written by Richard Harris? But other than that, this theory is acutally possible.
Personally, I think that the song could be about exams! "MacArthur Park is melting in the dark, all the sweet green icing flowing down" refers to you crying after you receive your paper. "Someone left the cake out in the rain, I don't think that I can take it, cause it took so long to bake it" refers to you being careless (leaving the cake out in the rain), you can't take it cause you spend so much time and effort revising (took so long to bake it)..."and I'll never have that receipe again" refers to after this major failure I will never take this subject again!
Nevermind, that is so not funny...
On a side note, in 9 hours time, I will be receiving my Bio paper, followed by Maths, and Physics...wish me luck!

Bohemian Rhapsody
//Bohemian Rhapsody//
A VERY interesting song, you may love it, you may hate it (most will hate it when they listen to it for the first time), but here are the lyrics, do take a look, it is really intriguing:
Is this the real life?
Is this just fantasy?
Caught in a landslide
No escape from reality
Open your eyes
Look up to the skies and see
I'm just a poor boy, I need no sympathy
Because I'm easy come, easy go
A little high, little low
Anyway the wind blows, doesn't really matter to me
Mama, just killed a man
Put a gun against his head
Pulled my trigger, now he's dead
Mama, life had just begun
But now I've gone and thrown it all away
Mama, ooo, Didn't mean to make you cry
If I'm not back again this time tomorrow
Carry on, carry on, as if nothing really matters
Too late, my time has come
Sends shivers down my spine
Body's aching all the time
Goodbye everybody - I've got to go
Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth
Mama, ooo - (anyway the wind blows) I don't want to die
I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all
I see a little silhouetto of a man
Scaramouch, scaramouch will you do the fandango
Thunderbolt and lightning - very very frightening me
Gallileo, Gallileo, Gallileo, Gallileo, Gallileo Figaro - magnifico
But I'm just a poor boy and nobody loves me
He's just a poor boy from a poor family
Spare him his life from this monstrosity
Easy come easy go - will you let me go
Bismillah! No - we will not let you go - let him go
Bismillah! We will not let you go - let him go
Bismillah! We will not let you go - let me go
Will not let you go - let me go (never) Never let you go - let me go
Never let me go - ooo No, no, no, no, no, no, no -
Oh mama mia, mama mia, mama mia let me go
Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me for me for me
So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye
So you think you can love me and leave me to die
Oh baby - can't do this to me baby
Just gotta get out - just gotta get right outta here
Ooh yeah, ooh yeah
Nothing really matters
Anyone can see
Nothing really matters - nothing really matters to me
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So you understand what this whole song is about? I admit it is rather confusing, especially the opera part in the middle. There are some terms in the opera section that needs explaining to the understanding of the song..like:
Scaramouch - A historical novel by Rafael Sabatini about a romantic adventure and tells the story of a young aristocrat during the French Revolution. It also means a stock character in commedia dell'arte and pantomime (what the hell is that), depicted as a boastful coward or buffoon according to Dictionary.com
Gallileo - a famous astronomer known for being the first to use a refracting telescope.
Bismillah - Arabic word, every Surah in the Qur'an begins with the usual formula of 'bismillah' which means "In the name of Allah" .
Beelzebub - the name of a god worshipped in the Philistine city of Ekron, an alternate name for Satan or the Devil in Christian writings.
Some people say that Freddie Mecury was struggling with AIDS at that time when he wrote that song (he did die of AIDS in 1991), thus the song contains many lyrics with reference to death ("Mama, life had just begun, but now I've gone and thrown it all away" and "So you think you can love me and leave me to die"), but then this song as written in 1975, 6 years before the AIDS epidemics in 1981, and 16 years before he died of AIDs, so God knows what he is thinking? Maybe he is a psychic and knows he will get AIDS in the future? dotz.
Some people also suggest that the song refers to death sentence (but where, I don't see it?), or maybe it is about a man killing another man, then he went from denial stage to anger stage to acceptance stage? Who knows?
But this is what makes this song wonderful, no one knows that this song is about. As quoted from Brian May and Roger Taylor "I find that it (knowing the meaning of the song) destroys them in a way because the great thing about about a great song is that you relate it to your own personal experiences in your own life. I think that Freddie was certainly battling with problems in his personal life, which he might have decided to put into the song himself. "
I love this song, the thunderbolt of lightening part very nice...and i ADORE the 'MAGNIFICO' part, and of course the part where it says "so you can STONE me and spit in my eye", that's my strength...stoning people...
Anyway, listen to the original here and watch a video this performance by Suzie McNeil (female rendition) from Rockstar INXS here (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED).
If you are too lazy to download, here is a link with the song, it is call "LOST RHAPSODY", it is a flash about Lost with Bohemian Rhapsody as backgroud music, DAMN FUNNY!! Must watch, even if you don't watch Lost, the flash is still very funny.. http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/272811

Judd sucks
//Judd sucks//
I can't stand Judd.
Self-righteous, poor sportsmanship, fat, loud, obnoxious, you can basically associate any negative adjectives with Judd.
Magaret is absolutely right when she said that when Judd screws up, he will make a big fuss and just talk crap to take the attention off him. He just rambles and rambles and rambles on (with his weird logic), and the very fact that he is so agitated when Magaret pointed out that he is poor sports says it out - he just can't stand losing (which is very obvious from that conversation).
Magaret is obviously right, but being the poor sports he is, he just tries to say something to divert the attention, like "Magaret obviously don't play sports, I just want her to shut up". (hello? we are talking about you, not Magaret?)
Fortunately, he won't win, Editing is obvious, he is set to fall. No doubt he will go far and continue to agitate me to no end, but at least I can take the pleasure of seeing him go far and get cut! (it would be sweet if Cindy is the one that engineered his boot).
I can't understand why Stephanie is siding Judd, her edit is getting worse each week, she's being very whiny last week ("why am I always on the loser tribe?" "my heart is breaking inside") and this week, she sided with evil Judd, maybe she goes far too, but don't win?
And Lydia went from star of the show last week, to invisible woman this week? It seems like she ain't going home anytime soon. Neither does Rafe. He got a pretty positive edit so far. So if Nakum goes to Tribal Council next week, the logical boot would be Cindy (though I hope that she goes far to boot Judd).
As for tribe dynamics on Yaxha, it is interesting that they did not show us the clip of Danni and Gary strategising, maybe Gary goes next? One thing for sure, Amy and Gary are definitely the ones that will be gone in Yaxha should they lose immunity again. Bobby Jon and Brandon are needed for their strength, Danni seems pretty well-liked by both sides, I would say Amy goes next if they go tribal council (since Gary supposedly have an alliance with Danni).
As of now, I would predict a Lydia and Stephanie final 2, with Lydia winning barely. She got quite some airtime since the first episode, but is starting to quieten down a bit this week (signs of someone going far). As for Stephanie, I would not expect her to go far normally with her edit (over the top kind of edit), but looking at the situation, she is a pretty good position to all the way, Judd and Jamie will be her protective shield since they will be targetted first at the merge if she is in the minority, with a couple of immunity wins, she could easily get to the final 2.
We'll see...

//First Post//
Yep, it will be a boring blog (like me)...so "get lost" if you are hoping for something interesting...
Well...you may find it interesting if you like "Lost", Desperate Housewives", "Charmed", or any Idol shows, etc....
But nevertheless, this blog will serve as a form of entertainment for me for the long holiday ahead...and a place for me to rant...you can read it if you have no life just like me (sitting in front of the comp the whole day sounds pretty no life to me...)...lol...but i'm sure the holidays will make some of you so bored that reading my blog will be an entertainment (sadly..)
So have fun!!
